Most of you are familiar with me and possibliy my story. I am Michelle ,a young thirty something professional. I have moved from a private blog (Life with limited appoitments) specifically dealing with life after intensive treatment for an eating disorder and the steps of my recovery. With this new blog I still want to be viligant about advocacy for eating disorders, women mental health issues, and some personal interests but really expanding upon me. Their is a quote from a reknowned psychologist and author Harriet Lerner that I like (its regarding finding voice), “Although I resonate with the phrase “finding our voice,” the image it evokes is deceptive. We don’t dig our authentic voice out of the muck, as a dog through dirt to uncover a prized bone. Similarly we don’t just reveal ourselves in conversation; we can also discover and deepen who we are. The challenge then, is not only to find our authentic voice but to enlarge it”.
For those of you who are hearing of my recovery for the first time, welcome. Recovery is possible and substainable and for others of you, I hope you will read along and post with me.
Michelle
